I am so excited about our 2012 hypnosis courses and our past life regression workshops.  As usual, we are continuing to offer our past life regression circles as well as our Past Life & Early Life Regression Training. Since my first Past Life Regression in 1998, I’ve learned first hand that past life therapies are a great way to begin working with yourself in a deep and profound way. Many of our workshop participants report significant changes in their lives and outlook because they were able to really look at issues in a different way.

Last summer, I finished my training to become a Certified Teacher Trainer with the American Board of Hypnotherapy. As a result of this, we are now offering two new classes.  The Hypnotherapist Certification Workshop is a 45 hour class.  Once you complete the class, you will have your American Board of Hypnotherapy Certification, ideas and assistance starting your own practice or a plan in utilizing the tools you gain in your own practice as well.

Since “All Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis” we have also created a Self-hypnosis Seminar. This class will teach different ways to induce Trance, how to utilize suggestions and post-hypnotic suggests. What is the investment for becoming Certified?

Investment for the Soul Resources Hypnosis Certification Class is $300 plus tax

Certification Fee: is for the American Board of Hypnotherapy and is an additional $115 (which we’ll handle after the class and you’ve finished the reading and written requirements.)

To get the Certification, these are the requirements:

1) Attend the class (20 hours)
2) Do the readings (10 hours)
3) Final test (which will be the creation of an intervention of a situation you might encounter as a hypnotherapist, tailor made to what you’re thinking your practice will look like and creating marketing materials for your practice) (15 hours)
4) Upon completion, you’ll get a certificate from Soul Resources to be used to get your ABH Certification (which we’ll manage once everything is done).

Once the class is completed you will have your ABH Registration and Certification and materials and ideas in starting your hypnotherapy practice or a plan to utilize it as a tool for your existing practice.

LICENSING REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION

In most US states, Hypnosis does not require any sort of license. Attached is a link of current state regulations regarding hypnosis and hypnotherapy, please check your state in regard to this.

Most of the states that do regulate hypnosis do so for consumer protection and truth in advertising and require hypnotherapists to register.

Past Life Regression Intensive

Purpose: To explore karma around present day life events; to bring ‘light’ into unconscious beliefs, and to allow for healing, which is defined for our purpose as choice in the given situation.

Structure: The past life regression intensive will have three parts
1) Defining the intention for the weekend2) Learning how to work through past life experiences for catharsis and transformation of related emotions and beliefs3) Learning to follow guidance and letting go of control of outside results
Note: The theme of the weekend will focus around choosing. Why do we choose what we choose? What are the conditions under which we make the choices we do? What are the results of our choices?

Rationale: The purpose of the structure is to optimize the participant’s ability to realize choice in any given situation, which is always a choice of inner experience. By taking one situation that is currently being experienced, the participant can use this as a lab to observe the mind in it’s current state and see what is causing that particular state. This allows for a different choice and release emotional states and beliefs that are no longer appropriate for what the participant would like to change. Learning to listen to an ‘inner voice’ will assist the participant in creating more positive mental states and life situations and assist in limiting and eventually eliminating reactivity.

The Workshop

Friday Night:
Past Life Regression Circle. The participant decides on a personal intention for the class and will experience a past life regression. This event is open to the public – 7:30 – 9:30 pm.

Saturday:
10:00 – 10:30 am – Intro to the weekend intensive. Explanation and discussion about the different facets of the experience of the past life regression from the previous night.
10:30 – 11:00 am – Cause and effect. (Explanation of different facets of past lives, in this life, etc.)
11:00 -12:00 noon – Working with visions from the previous evening. Discussion with facilitator, journal insights, meditation

We’ve been working on this for a while and it looks like it’s going to happen soon. The Institute for Hypnosis and Past Life Regression Therapy will be moving to a new physical location. This new location is “The Source for Creating Sacredness” at 3538 Anderson SE, Albuquerque NM 87106. We will be moving this Fall and should be in full operation by October 2010 (provided everything goes according to plan). Our new physical location will be a retail store (selling feng shui and hypnotherapy books, supplies and art), and a place for private hypnotherapy sessions, intuitive readings, classes and Reiki workshops as well. In the mean time, we will continue to do our work in our regular location.

So far, we’ve learned what hypnosis is not, what hypnosis is, and the importance of setting an intention.  In this post, I’ll begin the discussion about the actual regression experience, particularly some of the things that people may experience, why they may experience them and how to navigate the terrain.

The Unconscious Mind

In understanding the terrain, one could simply remember what their dreams are like. Dreams do not follow the rules of physical reality and often need to be interpreted for meaning. It is this same part of the mind (the unconscious) that works on us during our waking reality and can lead to things that we believe (in waking consciousness) to be irrational or ‘non-typical’ behavior.  As we all know, the unconscious mind is symbolic and has no need for time and space.

One unconscious process that we use in waking reality is memory. Memory is a function of the imagination and as we also know, is open to interpretation. It also can be highly symbolic and does not concern itself with time or space (or you wouldn’t be able to remember past events).

Past Life Regression and Memory

With this information about memory, let’s talk more about past life memories. Often these memories run into each other, because the unconscious mind relates experiences more as a constellation rather than on a linear time-line. Often there are several lives that cause karma which produce effects in this life time. So, I’ve noticed a couple of different phenomena that happen fairly often in my practice. We might find, for instance, that one may experience several different lives during a sitting that all reflect the same karma. Also, as happens less frequently, but still worth noting, is that lives may actually inter-pose on each other revealing a karmic relationship.

As an example, a person may find that he is an ancient Isrealite in the desert with Moses and is wearing a 1940′s German military uniform. This might reveal to an individual his karma in regard to anti-semitism as an example.

Getting out of the Human/Earth Paradigm

People often have experiences as insects, animals or non-earth intelligent beings. All of these (if you believe that there is life on other planets) are possible and should not be discounted. Whether it is a reality or material from your unconscious mind is not the issue here. Rather, it is material that is asked to be looked at for information and healing. So, do not judge the reality of the experience but what you think you know about the cosmos. Rather judge the experience to it’s relevance to what you are experiencing around your intention.

How to Approach the Actual Regression

In my last two posts, I reviewed what hypnosis is not and what it is. In this article, we look at how to prepare for the actual experience to utilize this experience for a deep healing and assist you in getting the most out of the regression.

Before Embarking on a Past Life Regression, Have an Intention

This is extremely important as it will direct and focus your experience and give you a framework in which to understand the particular past life experience. Without the intention, the past life experience may be too vague to utilize. Also, the type of intention is important. Make your intention specific to mundane life, and have at least a little bit of an emotional charge to it. This way, when life is happening afterward, you will notice positive change that will help enhance and improve your life situation. Examples of the sorts of intentions that work best include:

“I would like to improve my health” (with a focus on a particular condition).

“I would like to improve or understand my love relationship” (problems with partner or no partner).

“I want to understand my issues at work”

You get the idea.

Our Problems Stem from our Past Actions

Now before moving any further, the above statement is often thought of in the West as “blame the victim”. This is not the purpose of this statement. Whenever we see injustice or problems, regardless of their origins, we all should work to right wrongs and alleviate suffering whenever we can.

The true purpose of this statement is to help alleviate suffering as it does give both an answer to “why is this happening to me” as well as direction and motivation for future actions. Also, it explains why there are certain parts of your life that are going really well (you are experiencing the results of your positive actions from past lives) and why certain parts are not doing well (you are experiencing the results of your negative actions from past lives).

It’s not blame or punishment; it’s a result of the mindset that comes from past actions. So, by revisiting these situations, we have an opportunity to change our mind and thus change the causes of our outer experience. Judgment, blame and punishment have nothing to do with this.

So we are utilizing the intention to find the past actions of the karma we are now experiencing. We re-experience these actions, get a new perspective which cause new choices, understandings and clears emotional and energetic blocks.

Our next article will discuss the unconscious mind and give examples of how past life regressions arise from the unconscious mind and how one might interpret them.

In my previous post, I talked about what Hypnosis is not. Now it’s time to discuss what Hypnosis is.

Hypnosis is a state of relaxed concentration which makes it easier to have a ‘single pointed’ focus and a removal of other distractions from the mind. When one can achieve this state, it is much easier to make changes, insert new suggestions into the unconscious which are easily accepted (suggestibility), find lost or forgotten memories (regression and past life regression therapy) and access to motor and bodily processes (metabolism, pain, heart rate, blood pressure etc.). Also, it is believed that you have access to DNA, Spirit Guides or “other worldly guidance”, other extra-sensory intelligence (psychic visions for example) and other transpersonal visions (seeing the wholeness of all life and its connectedness). All of these are articles and studies all on their own, for the purposes of this article however, we’ll stick to the very basic, elementary explanation, which once understood are easily translated to these other subjects.

Simply put, the mind is the computer and the body is the robot. What the mind commands the body does. The result of what the body does is information for the mind which transmits it back to the body. This is a cyclic relationship that can cause or heal trauma, cause or heal ignorance, aversion, etc. Any physical or emotional state is a result of this relationship.

So when placed in a relaxed state, the mind tells the body to relax, the body relaxes and the mind becomes more relaxed. This is a cycle of relaxation that is often used in hypnosis to calm the body which calms the mind.

You can see this relationship by visualizing a “bright yellow lemon”. Cut into the lemon and taste the juice and you might find that your mouth waters and/or puckers. In reality, however, there is no lemon, no juice, only the mental image and the body reaction. If you continued to eat the lemon in your mind, you might find that your mouth waters more, or that you give yourself heartburn. Whatever your body’s reaction to this would be, it has all occurred because of the mind and nothing solid or in ‘consensus reality’.

So, if you then can change your mind about the lemon and your reaction to it, you can then change your reaction to the same stimuli in consensus reality. You could perhaps change how you experience the taste of the lemon or your body’s reaction to the lemon.

These same principals then can be applied to life situations, physical dependencies or health concerns because your mind, the commander of the body, literally dictates how the body functions. There is ample research on physical healing, pain control, post-operative healing, and even cancer that point to the mind’s role in the healing of the body.
